Self-managed or assisted selling
Airstream Buy Sell vs. Airstream Hunter
Both marketplaces focus on Airstreams. The key choice is how you want to sell: use Airstream Buy Sell's discovery and communication tools yourself, choose a Hunter listing package, or pay for Hunter's separate Guided Sale service.
Written by Airstream Buy Sell, one of the services discussed, not an independent review. Provider features describe published offers, not independently measured sales results.
Seller tools, side by side
| For sellers | Airstream Buy Sell | Airstream Hunter |
|---|---|---|
| Listing fee | $30 once. Until sold or removed, with availability confirmation and content rules. No automatic renewal or vehicle-sale commission. Current inclusions. | Standard: $49 for 30 days. Premium: $99 for 90 days. Guided Sale: $299 plus an advertised 10% success fee, until sold. These are separate offers. |
| Finding buyers | Nationwide browsing + AI-powered search. Traditional filters and meaning-based matching help buyers find relevant trailer details. “Airstream under $60k with twin beds and solar.” | Nationwide Airstream showroom with type, model, year, price, length, location, and feature filters. Equivalent natural-language matching was not verified. |
| Side-by-side trailer comparison | Compare two to four trailers side by side. Signed-in buyers can line up price, year, floor plan, length, weight, sleeping capacity, condition, and listed features. Differences are highlighted; missing details stay marked as not provided. Your listing's equipment and condition can stand out in a buyer's shortlist, not just its asking price. Open trailer comparison (sign-in required). | Favorites and market-price comparisons. Hunter promotes comparing prices with similar Airstreams. No selected-trailer specification table was found in its public showroom or listing page during our review. A price-comparison service is different from lining up your own shortlist by specification. |
| Alerts for new matching listings | Automatic emails for new matching listings. A buyer saves their search criteria and enables alerts. Once your listing is approved and published, we check it against those criteria. A match can reach that buyer without them searching again. Buyers choose immediate, daily, or weekly emails and can turn them off. These are matching-listing alerts, not a general newsletter. Immediate alerts do not guarantee instant delivery or a buyer for every trailer. | Saved searches and email alerts advertised. Hunter's showroom explicitly includes both with a free account. Its public wording does not explain whether a new listing triggers an email based on that buyer's saved criteria. That specific behavior needs confirmation in its signed-in alert setup; we are not marking it equivalent or absent. |
| Conversations | Real-time in-app chat. Typing and receipt status, risk checks, link warnings, and blocking/reporting help you manage inquiries. | Direct inquiries on self-managed plans. Guided Sale advertises lead management and negotiation assistance. No comparative message-speed test was performed. |
| Photos and promotion | Up to 24 listing photos. Listing video, editable Facebook post text, and a Marketplace ZIP kit you publish yourself. | Standard allows 4 photos; Premium allows 100 and external album links. Hunter advertises group promotion, with additional marketing on Guided Sale. |
| Who handles the sale | You arrange viewings, negotiate, and coordinate payment and ownership transfer. We provide the listing and communication tools. | Standard and Premium are self-managed. Guided Sale adds a consultant and assistance with selling and closing tasks; confirm the written scope. |
Provider terms reviewed September 28, 2026. Saving a search keeps criteria for another visit; enabling a matching alert adds an automatic notification about new inventory. Hunter advertises both tools, but its public description does not establish the same alert trigger and delivery as ours. Neither a match nor a listing guarantees a buyer. Suspicious messages may be reviewed; no platform is spam-proof.
Compare a listing with a listing, and assistance with assistance
A flat advertising fee and a fee for managing parts of a sale buy different things. Hunter's 10% success fee belongs to Guided Sale, not its Standard or Premium listings.
- Airstream Buy Sell: tools for an owner-managed sale
- One listing offer includes discovery, alerts, conversations, and sharing assets. You retain responsibility for the transaction and can update your listing as the price or availability changes.
- Hunter Standard or Premium: choose an advertising package
- Compare the duration, photo allowance, and promotion against how much material you have and how long you want the ad to run. Ask what happens at expiration before paying.
- Hunter Guided Sale: evaluate the service agreement
- Consider this when you want help with leads, negotiations, and closing. Confirm the success-fee basis, any minimums, cancellation rules, exclusivity, and who hosts physical viewings. Remote assistance is not automatically on-lot consignment.
Use Hunter's current seller packages to reconfirm the advertised terms. We have not reviewed an individual Guided Sale contract or completed either service's competitor checkout.
Make the details of your Airstream discoverable
On Airstream Buy Sell, describe the actual floor plan, sleeping arrangement, solar equipment, batteries, and upgrades. Those details give AI-powered search something useful to match beyond the model name. Buyers can also use ordinary filters and browse nationwide.
A newly published listing may match a search a buyer has already saved. That gives you a route to an interested shopper without depending on them returning at the right moment. It is an opportunity to be found, not proof that a waiting buyer exists for every trailer.
Your public listing also has its own web address and readable vehicle details, supporting discovery by search engines and web-based AI tools. This is separate from our on-site AI search. Google indexing, rankings, and inclusion in AI answers are not guaranteed, and public web visibility is not unique to us.

Already have your own Hunter listing?
You can import your own existing ad into a private Airstream Buy Sell draft using our Chrome listing-import extension. Review the text, photos, price, and condition before submitting it for publication.

Importing is not continuous synchronization. It does not cancel the Hunter ad, move conversations, or update the other listing when you change a price or mark yours sold. Check any Guided Sale agreement before cross-listing.
Which approach fits your sale?
Choose Airstream Buy Sell when you want one listing fee, meaning-based search, buyer alerts, and direct conversations while managing the sale yourself.
Consider Hunter when one of its advertising packages fits your needs or you specifically want paid assistance through Guided Sale. Both services offer Airstream-focused, nationwide discovery; compare the actual package rather than assuming one produces better buyers.
