Safety guide

Slow down when pressure speeds up.

The marketplace helps people publish classified listings and communicate. It does not inspect trailers, verify every claim, hold funds, arrange shipping, guarantee transactions, or resolve vehicle-purchase disputes.

Effective August 9, 2026

Inspect the trailer and its records

See the trailer in person or hire an independent qualified inspector. Compare the VIN on the frame and build plate with the title, check for water intrusion and structural damage, test appliances and safety equipment, and review maintenance, repair, recall, and lien records.

A marketplace verification signal describes only the specific check named. It is not an endorsement, condition report, ownership guarantee, or promise that every seller statement is accurate.

Verify the seller and title

Confirm that the seller's government identification matches the title and that the VIN matches the physical trailer. Contact the issuing motor-vehicle agency or lienholder through independently located contact information when anything is unclear. Do not accept a photo of a title as proof that a transferable original exists.

Keep vehicle payments outside this service

Platform checkout pays only for seller advertising. Never send a trailer deposit, purchase price, shipping payment, escrow funding, gift card, cryptocurrency, or wire transfer to this marketplace. Independently verify any payment or escrow provider and understand how funds can be recovered before paying a seller.

Recognize common pressure tactics

  • A price far below comparable listings paired with urgent payment.
  • A seller who refuses a live inspection or identity/title check.
  • Claims that the marketplace guarantees, escrows, or ships the trailer.
  • Overpayment followed by a request to forward money to a shipper.
  • Links asking you to sign in, install software, or reveal a security code.
  • Pressure to leave marketplace messaging before basic questions are answered.

Report, block, and preserve evidence

Use the listing or conversation report control and block an account when contact is unsafe. Preserve transaction records and contact your bank and appropriate law-enforcement or consumer-protection agency if money or identity information may have been stolen. Read the content and enforcement policy for review and appeal details.
